Install ubuntu in windows partition

Check list before installing

  • Use the ISO file of Ubuntu.
  • Use only desktop ubuntu.
  • Min RAM 256 MB(better to have 512MB), 10 GB harddisk space with XP, Vista.

Installation steps

  • Download ISO file and copy to the folder with Wubi executable.
  • Double click the Wubi executable. The installer will detect the ISO file and installation starts.
  • Enter the size which you want to allocate and choose the location where you want to install the Ubuntu.
  • then you can find a floder with installation files

  • click on the install to start the installation.
  • When the installation is complete reboot your system. You will find an option for booting into Ubuntu.


Uninstalling Ubuntu

  • Log to windows and run in the appwiz.cpl
  • add/remove dailog box truns up then select ubuntu click on that to uninstall
  • Once you are over with it Ubuntu will be removed from your computer.
